Lt. Col. ERIK A. ANDREASEN

Lt. Col. Erik Andreasen assumed command of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit on April 1, 2020. He is a 2001 graduate of Norwich University - The Military College of Vermont, where he was commissioned in the Infantry. 

After graduating, Andreasen was assigned as a platoon leader within the 82nd Airborne Division, where he served in both Afghanistan and Iraq.  

Following selection and assessment at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Andreasen served in U.S. Army Special Operations units at Ft. Bragg, Fort Polk, Eglin AFB, and Macdill Air Force Base with multiple deployments overseas. 

Andreasen has served in units whose combat contributions were recognized with three Valorous Unit Awards and three Joint Meritorious Unit Awards.

COMMAND SGT. MAJ. Aaron K. Forry

Command Sgt. Maj. Aaron K. Forry was born in Waterloo, Iowa and raised in Clarksville, Iowa.  He graduated from Clarksville Community High School in 1997. In August 1998, Forry enlisted in the U.S. Army and attended One Station Unit training at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Forry’s assignments include: M249 gunner, radio telephone operator, fire team leader, Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; instructor, Northern Warfare Training Center, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; anti-armor section leader and platoon sergeant, Delta Company,1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; scout platoon sergeant, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; first sergeant, Alpha Company, Delta Company, and Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; operations sergeant NCOIC, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; first sergeant, Pre-Ranger Course, Alpha Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division; operations sergeant major, 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division; operations sergeant major, 2nd BCT, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); and his current position with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit.

Forry’s military and civilian education includes: Combat Lifesaver Course, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, Air Assault School, Rappel Master School, Pathfinder School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Ranger School, Primary Leadership Development Course (BLC), Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course (ALC), Maneuver Senior Noncommissioned Officers Course (SLC), U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy - Class 67.  Forry has earned an Associate’s Degree from Excelsior College and is continuing his education to obtain a degree in Business Management.  

Forry’s awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal (2 Bronze OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (2 Bronze OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal (C device), the Army Commendation Medal (1 Silver OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (2 Bronze OLC), Meritorious Unit Commendation (1 Bronze OLC), the Army Good Conduct Medal (2 Silver Loop), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Star), the Iraqi Campaign Medal (4 Bronze Stars), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 3), North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, Driver/Mechanics Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Ranger Tab.  He has also been awarded several foreign parachutist badges for his participation in partnership airborne operations.
