COMPETE AS A SOLDIER-ATHLETE

Through Army funding, WCAP Soldiers receive specialized coaching, access to state-of-the-art training venues, sports medicine treatment, and physical therapy. Most importantly, Army athletes have the opportunity to participate at top national and international competitions—including the summer and winter Olympics.

WCAP has established training centers throughout the country specializing in boxing, wrestling, modern pentathlon, and more. Depending on their sport, athletes are assigned a training location, usually near a college or sports club known for its success in preparing athletes for major competitions.

Beyond athletic commitments, WCAP Soldiers inspire the public and their fellow Soldiers through a variety of outreach activities. They speak to high school and college students, hold clinics, mentor young athletes, and make appearances in support of Army recruiting efforts.
