The Custom Firearms Shop produces top-quality, match-grade rifles, pistols and shotguns, as well as much of the ammunition for the Army Marksmanship Unit.
The shop has a proven track record of providing the Army with precision long-range small arms.
About The Shop
For more than five decades, the Custom Firearms shop has customized and built the weapons systems used by the Army. The small arms innovations resulting from the shop’s mission to help AMU Soldiers succeed at the highest level of competition have directly contributed to the Army’s combat effectiveness.
The Army Marksmanship Unit works closely with the Maneuver Center of Excellence to assess and document the latest weapons and ammunition technologies.
The shop also provides rapid production and fielding of weapons in response to Army needs statements. For example, the unit built and modified 296 M16A2 rifles in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
