INTERNATIONAL RIFLE
The AMU International Rifle Team specializes in five different kinds of competition rifles: the air rifle, the small bore free rifle, the ladies sport rifle, the large bore free rifle and the 300-meter standard rifle.
The air rifle is fired from the standing position at 10 meters. It takes a .177 caliber lead pellet.
The .22 caliber small bore free-rifle and ladies sport rifle are fired at a distance of 50 meters.
The large bore free-rifle and standard rifle are used in 300-meter competitions. They feature in three-position and prone matches at the world championships and Pan American Games.
The standard rifle has similar dimensions to the air rifle, but features a minimum trigger weight. This standard rifle is used in the world championship, Pan American, and other competitions. All 300-meter rifles use a maximum of 8mm cartridges.
Men and women’s events include a three-position match and a prone only match.
