JOIN THE UNIT
Interested in joining the United States Army Marksmanship Unit? The Army Marksmanship Unit shooting teams boast the most elite competition shooters in the world. For many competition shooters, training with the AMU is the best way to pursue their goals.
Follow these steps in order to be considered for AMU selection:
STEP 1
Contact the AMU Chief of Competitions. Provide all of the scores you have earned in registered competitions, your current classification, and any other major accomplishments.
STEP 2
The unit will review your scores and contact you if you meet AMU standards.You will get a letter of acceptance from the commander of the unit. Take that letter to your local recruiter to enlist in the Army.
CURRENTLY SERVING SOLDIERS
Currently-serving Soldiers in the U.S. Army should follow step 1 above. Upon meeting qualifications, he or she will receive instructions for reassignment.
