35F: Intelligence Analyst
U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Warren Palmer, Intelligence Analyst, explains what it’s like being deployed in the U.S. Army 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade (1st SFAB).
I’m operating as the senior all source intelligence analyst for 1st battalion, 1st SFAB. So, on a daily basis I’m doing all aspects of [the] intelligence spectrum as far as developing intelligence summaries, doing course of action briefs, threat briefs for our teams that are going out and conducting advising missions.
As well, I am also acting as, again, the senior advisor for intelligence activities. I’m going out, I’m meeting with our Afghan partners and teaching the full spectrum. So, I am doing map reading classes, all the way up to the intelligence preparation of the battlefield and the steps that fall in there.
